David holds a BSc in Management and worked for the pharmaceutical industry before obtaining his MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. After his MSc he worked at University College London (UCL) (2002-2011) on projects in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) with regards to access to insulin and diabetes care. In parallel he obtained his PhD at UCL with a focus on Type 1 diabetes. David leads various research projects in LMICs focused on access to insulin and health system responses to diabetes and chronic diseases; coordinates implementation projects funded by the Swiss government; and teaches and supervises students at the University of Geneva. Beyond access to insulin and health systems, David has a particular interest on the individual with diabetes and how their views and needs can be integrated into health system responses.
