Marc Yambayamba grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and completed his M.D. at the University of Kinshasa. He later earned an MSc in Epidemiology, a joint programme between the University of Lubumbashi and Mweka College of Wildlife Management (Tanzania). His Master’s thesis focused on Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) of E. coli infection in Kinshasa’s wastewater. Prior to joining the EBPhD programme, Marc served as the Country Manager for the Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN), overseeing USAID’s One Health Workforce project. He also conducted research in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Kinshasa. His PhD research at University of Zurich focuses on operationalising and evaluating One Health platforms in Guinea and DRC.
