Gian Luca Di Tanna is an international expert on statistical methods in randomized clinical trials and observational research with a specific interest on Bayesian methods, evidence synthesis/meta-analysis and their use to inform new studies and health economic evaluations. He joined SUPSI in 2022 after academic appointments at the George Institute for Global Health / University of New South Wales, Queen Mary University of London, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the University of Birmingham, and the Sapienza University of Rome. He is actively involved in the correct use of systematic reviews and statistical methods for pooling evidence in his capacity as Statistical Editor of Cochrane groups. In 2023 and 2024 he was listed in the World's Top 2% Scientists ranking published by Stanford University.
