Paulo Gonçalves is Professor of Management and Director of the Humanitarian Operations Group at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), Switzerland. He is also a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS). His research combines system dynamics simulation, behavioral experiments, optimization, and econometrics, to understand how managers make strategic, tactical and operational decisions in humanitarian settings. With a focus on applied research, his work has impacted logistics and operations of several humanitarian organizations. Paulo holds a PhD in Management Science and System Dynamics from the MIT Sloan School of Management (MIT Sloan) and a MSc from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
