Prof. Pedro Marques-Vidal received his MD in medical research and his PhD in Biochemistry from the Paul Sabatier University in France, and his PhD in Epidemiology from the Erasmus University in the Netherlands. He was associate professor of Nutrition at the University of Lisbon prior to coming to Switzerland in 2006. He has extensive experience in cardiovascular and nutritional epidemiology, having published over 650 peer-reviewed papers and participated in several Swiss and international studies on diet and cardiovascular disease. He is a longtime fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and former board member of the European Association for Preventive Cardiology.
